Felix Geisthardt

About

I am a research assistant at the Institute for Ecological Economics at WU Vienna, where I work on the EU Horizon project RAWCLIC. My research focuses on the intersection of environmental economics, resource governance, and quantitative methods.

Currently pursuing my BSc in Economics, Environment, and Politics, I am particularly interested in spatial econometrics, sustainability reporting, and the distributional effects of environmental policy. My work combines rigorous quantitative analysis with a deep interest in how economic systems interact with ecological boundaries.

Research

RAWCLIC – Raw Materials for Climate Change Mitigation

EU Horizon Project · Institute for Ecological Economics · 2024–present

Building large-scale databases on global mining-related water impacts. The project investigates how the extraction of critical raw materials for the green transition affects water resources and local communities worldwide. My work involves data collection, standardization, and analysis of corporate sustainability reports using frameworks such as GRI and ICMM standards.

Teaching & Service

I coordinate a PhD-level socioeconomics research seminar series at the Institute, facilitating academic exchange and supporting early-career researchers in developing their work.
